Shadow’s Dawn
The Heir & The Spare
Another transformative chapter at Fort Lyonhall unfurled as Lady Ambrose Valenborne stepped in as the new steward of the Fort and her people. After the death of their beloved father, Duke Reginald Valenborne, Lord Declan Valenborne returned home to the Dutchy leaving his younger siblings, Ambrose and Leander, to guide the Fort in his stead.
As the Fort’s new leader, Ambrose quickly implemented a series of rigorous courtly standards among the garrison, emphasizing decorum, duty, and rigorous training. While initially excited about the change in leadership, the morale of the Fort diminished as lean rations and doubled patrols quickly wore on the Residents of the Fort.
What tranquility remained at the Fort, however, was shattered as once again the portal opened and World Walkers from across the realms flooded beyond the Fort’s gates. While the Residents delighted in once more seeing new and old friends - engaging in song, dance, lessons, and puzzles - Ambrose suddenly collapsed in the middle of one of her dance lessons due to a mysterious illness.

The Heart’s Agony Rose
The Rangers rushed to provide initial aid, yet it is with the help of the World Walkers that a sinister plot was uncovered. After a detailed investigation, the World Walkers uncovered that Leander, the youngest of the Valenborne siblings, had made an attempt on his sister’s life.
Using extracts from a Heart’s Agony rose (a dangerous floral specimen from Miscuri that had recently been pilfered from the Ranger’s supplies), a stolen mortar and pestle from the Magi, and taking advantage of the trust of their loyal butler, Sneeves - Leander poisoned Ambrose, sending shockwaves through the Fort’s ranks and challenging the very fabric of loyalty and trust within House Valenborne.
Faced with the gravity of her brother's attempt on her life, Ambrose chose an unconventional path to justice, mirroring her previous sentencing of the would-be thief, Nym Faludra. In a demonstration of grace and mercy, she opted for Leander's incarceration and forced labor rather than execution, offering him a chance for redemption and reflection.

As the evening came to a close and the World Walkers departed once more to their homes, Ambrose took time to reflect on her choices as a leader. She quickly lifted the restrictions on the food supplies, revoked the mandatory dance lessons (in place for volunteer, but extremely encouraged, lessons), and quickly brought cheers of excitement from her wards.
With the community now united once more, they bid farewell to their World Walker friends, having learned a valuable lesson on strength and resilience. Fort Lyonhall stands tall as a symbol of endurance, where challenges are met with collective determination, and every person - from the highest lord to the humblest servant - contributes to the overarching tapestry of life within it’s walls.

Old Friends & New Faces
Bard Guild Lead, Edwin Thatcher, makes his Fort Lyonhall debut
during the retelling of the theft of the Fellstar.
Since the last time the portal opened, Fort Lyonhall has seen an expansion in it’s number of residents. After news of the World Walkers reached the ears of King Ryons, His Majesty approved additional visas for approved Guild Leaders to settle at the Fort. The Bards saw their number’s grow in the Greenhorn Guild Lead, Edwin Thatcher.
The long time Valenborne Butler, Wyn “Sneeves” Snellessowin, watches in concern as Lady Ambrose rests on the steps of the Lyon’s Roar Amphitheater.
The Rangers, on the other hand, saw their Guild Lead Lionel Drakewarden recalled back to Draile on emergency orders. In his stead, Guild Leads York Henatt and Quinn Ockland were stationed with Nym Faldura to keep watch until further notice. The Magi excitedly added the Slamdancer, Taigan Hetruul, to their ranks; while the Valenbornes saw their beloved butler, Wyn “Sneeves” Snellessowin, join them from home on their elder brother’s orders.
