THE GATES?

The Portal To Fort Lyonhall

Has Closed…For Now

We hope you enjoyed our thrilling Arc One events—First Light, Shadow’s Dawn, and Midnight Eclipse— and indulged in an intoxicating mix of mystery, murder, magic, and mayhem. We want to say thank you to the valiant World Walkers that banded together, rallying to the distressed call of Fort Lyonhall and rising to the challenges laid before them.

Together, they confronted Nym, who had attempted to steal the Fellstar, ultimately sentencing her to community service for her reckless actions. Futher investigation led them to uncover Lord Leander Valenborne, who emerged as a would-be murderer embroiled in dark plots against his own kin before the heroes discovered an antidote that saved Lady Ambrose, Leander's sister, from a dire fate. And in a final twist of revelation, the true steward of Fort Lyonhall was unveiled, as Lord Commander Alaric Grimwalde stepped forth, newly appointed to guide the Fort through the trials ahead.

FAQ

  • Devised theatre – frequently called collective creation – is a method of theater and performance art where the event/art piece/show originates from collaborative and often improvisatory work by a performing ensemble.

The ensemble is typically made up of actors, but other categories of theatre practitioners may also be central to this process of generative collaboration, such as visual artists, composers, and choreographers.

It shares some common principles with improvisational theatre; however, in devising, improvisation is typically confined to the creation of the event/art piece/show itself: by the time a devised piece is presented to the public, it usually has a fixed, or partly fixed form.

Some people come to our events for the community; others for the “game” aspects like skills, ranks, guilds, and titles; and some just to enjoy the festivities and wonder of a medieval faire.

You are encouraged to come as you are, be that while wearing a band shirt and a pair of jeans, or expertly crafted elf ears and a flowing silk robe.

  • The beautiful thing about Beyond the Gates is that you are encouraged to participate and play how you wish.
